How did you feel your transition from high
school to Division I in Hockey East was? hard, easy? It
definitely took me time to adjust both on and off the ice. It is
much more demanding than high school and takes great accountability
to be a division one athlete - as long as you're on top of things,
the transition isn't too bad at all.
How do you stay mentally strong? Continuously
making goals for myself, having great passion for the game, and most
importantly - having fun with whatever I do.
In your opinion, what is your strength in the game? I
think I bring a competitive edge every practice and game, offensive creativity
and blocking shots are among my strengths.
Weakness? I think I could
improve my skills in front of the net. Finding pucks in the crease area
and having the ability to put them in the net. One timers could always
use improvement as well.
How do you overcome your weakness? Work
on them every day until I find perfection.
What is the best piece of coaching advice you have ever received? Have
fun.
What is the most important skill for a forward
to possess in your opinion? Having
the ability to see plays before they happen. Making plays at top speed
is up there too.
What was your path to Hockey East? Went
to prep school at Notre Dame in Saskatchewan Canada, played junior hockey
out there for two years - then I was recruited by UVM.
What were you like as a youth hockey player?
standout? grinder?
I wouldn't say that I was a standout,
more of an average player I think.
