What do the campers do when they are not skating? |
 |
Off-ice activities include guest speakers, strength
training, dry land training, games, video critiques and,
off-campus activities throughout the week. Check the
camp description page on the web site to see what activities
will be offered. |

What kind of supervision is at residential camps? |
 |
At all camps, supervision is the number one concern
and we take tremendous pride in this detail. Pro Ambitions counselors
live in the residences with the campers. Depending on the location
what type of security is in place. Each camper is able to lock his/her
room. A security guard or security check point at each location for
all campers welfare. All staff have been through stringent background
checks and are CORI and SORI certified. They also have been medically
cleared. |

What does my child need to bring to a BOARDING CAMP? |
 |
The following are a few items you will need to make your camp experience smooth and successful:
- Return a completed Health Form and Immunization Record, signed by your doctor, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (FOR SUMMER CAMPS ONLY)
* * Important: Each camper MUST have a completed Health Form and immunization Record, signed by your doctor, on file before going on the ice! Your physical must be within the last year. NO EXCEPTIONS! * *
- Return a signed Waiver of Liability (if you did not sign one with an "electronic" signature when registering online).
* * Important: Each camper MUST have a Waiver of Liability on file in order to go on the ice. NO EXCEPTIONS! * *
What to Bring: (FOR SUMMER CAMPS ONLY)
If you are attending Boarding Camp be sure to bring with you:
Bring 18 Page Critique filled out. Go to website http://www.proambitions.com/register.htm to print and bring.
- YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE (MANDATORY)
- Linens, Sheets XL Twin, Pillow, Blankets, Towels, Toiletries, Bathing Suit
- Sneakers (Proper running shoes for Dry Land Training).
- Full Hockey equipment including neck guard for goalies and mouth piece
- 2 Hockey Sticks & 1 Street Hockey Stick (Goalies included)
- Medications
- Health Form, Immunization Record and Liability Waiver Form.
- Fan (optional), Alarm Clock

After registering, each camper receives a form which
includes a roommate preference section. Requests are
honored to the best of our ability. |

or food allergies? |

Pro Ambitions works with Dining Services
at each camp to accommodate any special needs. Please email bls@proambitions.com with your special dietery requests. |

What if my child needs to take medications at camp? |
 |
A camp nurse and/or nursing student is
available 24 hours/day and stores all prescription and
non-prescription medications brought to camp. Medications
are administered when necessary to each camper. All medical
staff members are First Aid/CPR certified. |

Can campers have cell phones? |
 |
Yes. (With Restrictions-Due to
the loss and abuse of cell phones allotted times will be given
by Head Coaches who will be holding cell phones. Allotted times
will be AM and/or PM Daily.

pay phones available in the residence halls or hotel lobbies? |

accommodations are available for the weekend? |

Pro Ambitions weekend stays
for boarding camps are inclusive of all meals, planned
activities and 24 Hr. Supervision. |

Yes, during the weekend, campers are
given time to do laundry. A counselor is available to
help those who need it. |

Yes, parents are always welcome. |

What is the camper to counselor ratio? |
 |
There is never more than a 5:1 ratio.
Some specialty camps have a ratio as low as 3:1. |

Is it possible for our child to leave camp
with a family friend or relative? |

Campers may leave campus, as long as arrangements
are made in advance and we have written parental permission.
The camper must also notify his/her counselor when leaving
and returning.

For an additional fee, the rink will provide
skate sharpening and small hockey equipment needs. We suggest
bringing extra tape, a mouthpiece and, laces. |

How do I get a refund if my child can not
attend camp? |
 |
Cancellations before May 1, 2010 will
receive a cash refund less 25% of the total cost of camp. Cancellations
after May 1, 2010 will receive a letter of credit (voucher) less
25%. Cancellations within 20 days of a camp session receive no refund.
No show! No Refund!
If a camper becomes sick or injured at camp or before camp, 50% of
the unused portion of the camp tuition will be returned in a letter
of credit (voucher) for a 2011 camp or clinic. A Doctors Note is Required.
Pro
Ambitions Hockey, Inc. can not provide refunds for cancellations
due to unforeseen acts of God, including facility damage/closing
complications
or weather related rink/facility cancellations. These are highly
unlikely to occur but in the event it does, we will issue credit
vouchers for
the full amount paid for the affected program. If Pro Ambitions
Hockey, Inc cancels for any other reason not specified above we will
offer
you a full refund.

15 minutes after the end of camp will be charged a late
fee of $25/hour. |

What if my child has never
played in a "checking" situation before? |
 |
Chances are he/she has and you just don’t
know it. Players run into each other inadvertently
all the time and kids are very vulnerable approaching
pucks in dangerous areas of the ice. Pro Ambitions
teaches campers how to battle properly and safely,
how to respect the opponent, how to approach pucks
in all dangerous areas and, how to come out victoriously.
Also, campers are grouped by age and size, so they
will be matched appropriately for battle situations. |

How many hours of ice time are in a typical
camp day? |
 |
Full day camps typically run 8:30-4PM with ice time
9-11AM and 1-3PM. Please check your camp location for specified
times some camps start later and end later.
Battle Express is 2 hours long on ice only. Please check
your schedule for times on the website
Half
Day Option is 2 hours of ice, lunch and off ice activity.

What do the campers
do when they are not skating? |

Most day camps have a lunch break/chalk talk from
11am-12pm, dry land training from 12-1pm and stickhandling
circuits from 3-4pm |

Each camper should bring a water bottle to camp
(labeled with his/her name) and keep it on the bench.
Whenever a camper needs water, he/she can get it.
There is a 10-minute break after the first 50-minutes
of ice in both the morning and afternoon sessions. |

What is dry land training? |
 |
Dry land training circuits include
various speed/agility/quickness/explosiveness training
using all of today's up-to-date technology to lengthen
stride, increase quickness off the line, increase
flexibility and, create a better, more versatile/powerful
athlete. It also includes games which incorporate
team building/dynamic strategies, such as trust walk,
mine field, positive reframing activities, European
handball, steal the bacon, dodgeball, and, soccer,
as well as Hand Shake Competition, Rock Paper Scissors Championship,
Simon Says, etc. |

What time is check-in the first day? And
then the remaining days after that? |

Check in is 8:00 a.m. the first day.
Although we skate at 9:00 a.m., this allows time
for any unforeseen circumstances. You will have time
to help your player in the locker room and have him/her
on the ice by 9:00 a.m. The remainder of the week,
check in is 8:30 a.m. or, for clinics, half an hour
before the scheduled ice time. Times/dates are subject
to change and some locations start end at different

If you are attending Day Camp be sure to bring with you:

- Sneakers, t-shirt, shorts and sweatshirt (for off-ice time)
- Your name taped to the front of your helmet
- Bring Lunch, beverages and 2 snacks…in insulated cooler with ice pack and remember to eat a hearty breakfast! (Call the rink for their snack bar schedule. It might not be open during camp hours.)
- Any special medications or instructions for coaches
- Street Hockey Stick (Goalies Included)
- Health forms, Immunization Records and Liability Waiver signed.
