A charity founded by Jeff and Christine Serowik in
2003. Its mission is to help young players whom are
facing adversities out of their control, an opportunity
to shine and strengthen their spirit through hockey.
Sports Saves Souls disperses its scholarships to players
who are moving up the ranks of youth hockey, but because
of circumstances beyond their control, cannot afford
the league fees, equipment costs or any other expenses
associated with the sport. Jeff gives the money raised
to Massachusetts and New Hampshire hockey league presidents
and board members who can easily find the neediest
and most deserving kids.
Sports Saves Souls has had many very successful fundraising
events. In 2003: a celebrity golf tournament at the
New England Country Club. Jeff is extremely appreciative
to all celebrities whom donated their time such as
Hall of Famer, Cam Neely, Boston Bruin favorite tough
guy, Jay Miller, Jeff's agent Jay Fee, President of
Blue Sky Sports and Entertainment, Mike Greer, Washington
Capitals, Brian Berard, Chicago Blackhawks, Joe Sacco,
Philadelphia Flyers, Michael Grosek, Boston Bruins,
Randy Wood, New York Islanders, and more.
In 2004: A private VIP party at the
Roxy Nightclub in Boston. Thanks again to friends and hockey
celebrities for attending and making for a great "old school
evening out".
2006 brought us two very successful events:
A poker tournament and our second annual celebrity charity golf
tournament at the beautiful Turner Hill Country Club in Ipswich,
MA.
Our 3rd annual golf tourney was again held at the beautiful Turner
Hill course on Sept. 24, 2007 and it was a great day for fund raising
and golf.
2008 kicked off with a fundraising event at the Millenium Hotel
in Boston. We partnered with Glen Murray, Tony Amonte and Marty McInnis
for a great night of fun and fundraising!
Our money continues to go to a great cause and we look
forward to future events. To find out more about attending events,
