BU camps DEFENSEMEN WITH JEFF

The real deal with Jeff all to yourself for the week. This is an awesome opportunity for all defensemen and forwards who are interested in exploring becoming a "mule" as Jeff calls the D-men. Jeff himself was a forward up until prep school. Think about that! Jeff added this specialty camp to the BU boarding camp repertoire. The intimacy of the small group while spending the week with Jeff will make for a lifetime memory. We guarantee to give defensemen a hockey experience that will change their game forever. With the massive expansion of Pro Ambitions Hockey, Inc. it is difficult to have Jeff as the head on ice instructor for the entire week of camp. That is what makes BU boarding camps so special. Requests for a two week stay from many of last years boarders prompted us to add yet another unique Pro Ambitions camp. Jeff will be pulling out all the stops and opening up his bag of tricks at this one. As mentioned in other parts of the website, the Pro Ambitions copyrighted curriculum that has been sold to youth hockey organizations nation-wide had never included a section on Jeff's D-camps. He has too much knowledge to be passed on about being a "mule" that he keeps it exclusive to teaching himself.

BU camps  PROLUX

THE BATTLE CAMP

The signature Pro Ambitions Camp designed by Jeff to encompass game simulated battles. Hockey is a series of 1 on 1 battles all over the ice. Players will leave this camp with awesome skill development, a better understanding of the game and most importantly - knowing how to battle for loose pucks. This is also the curriculum that Jeff has copyrighted/trademarked and sold to many youth hockey organizations nationwide. He is extremely proud of this unique and necessary conceptual approach to teaching. It is a compilation of the best advice, drills, and game theory from his career.

This camp is for all levels of players whether you're a mite b (like his son) or Midget. (We suggest you have 1 year of active playing under your belt). We are the masters of "Circuit Training" and small area games, the kids are always moving and always being corrected with lots of repetitions in a fun and spirited environment which fosters self confidence and great self esteem.

SNIPER/SHARPSHOOTERS CAMP

NOT MANY CAMPS FOCUS ON SHOOTING, we do and will change your game big time!!

GOALIES BEWARE!!! Shooting is very rarely worked on and players are never taught all the necessary tricks to “Own Goaltenders”

THIS CAMP IS A SNIPER CAMP - NOT MANY CAMPS FOCUS ON SHOOTING, WELL HERE YOU GO BEINGTAUGHT BY OUR TOP PRO AMBITIONS COACHES.

  1. Quick release-getting the shot off before the goalie gets set.
  2. Deceiving the goalie- Showing top glove with the angle of your blade and then rolling the wrists to shoot low blocker. Closing the blade appearing to shoot low before opening it up to go top shelf. The goalie must respect the angle of the blade, which gives the shooter the advantage.
  3. Shooting off the wing
  4. Shooting for rebounds- where to shoot when on a bad angle or from the wing to create a rebound for a player driving to the net.
  5. Shooting off your front foot- providing a quicker release when in the slot or in traffic
  6. Shooting in stride- shooting while going full speed
  7. Point shots- how to get shots through and avoid getting your shot blocked.
  8. Backhand shots
  9. Scoring in tight- players must get the puck up quick as the goalie slides from one post to the other
  10. One Timers- How and when to take them
  11. Receiving a pass and having the puck in a position to shoot immediately. Al Macinnis was the best.
  12. Fake shot/pass
  13. Shooting off balance and off of both feet
  14. Deflections
  15. Learning how to get open and come in and out of scoring areas
  16. Roofing the puck
  17. Want the puck, demand the puck

PRO AMBITIONS HOCKEY CURRICULUM "PROFORMA" BU camps

During Jeff’s lifelong experience in hockey, he has attended many different hockey camps and schools, where he has been introduced and exposed to many different teaching philosophies and styles regarding the game of ice hockey. Overall, he has found that many camps and schools out there, teach too much of the same information. With this in mind, Jeff has created a second, but completely NEW Pro Ambitions curriculum that he is calling PROFORMA. Now Jeff would like to pass these secrets of the pros on to his campers.

A Few Words from Jeff about PROFORMA CURRICULUM

The biggest thing that I noticed in working with kids over the past 20 years is that kids are still struggling to integrate their skating and puck handling skills at the same time.  Kids get so nervous when trying to master drills at full speed that they end up grinding saw dust out of their stick. My new curriculum focuses on teaching and developing players to be able to combine multiple skills out on the ice.

Pro Ambition Boarding camp are staffed with Jeff's top instructors and councelors (many current pro, college and junior players) that have all been professionally trained in Jeff's training curriculum to ensure that each camper is getting the best possible training. In fact, many of Pro Ambitions counselors were at one time campers themselves.

Part of what separates Pro Ambition Camps from the rest of the hockey camps out there is Jeff's attention to the little details. Pro Ambition campers are getting the highest quality camp, from boarding at some of the top Prep schools and colleges, to eating three delicious meals a day, to training with some of the top trainers at some of the top athletic facilities around, to getting the most advanced on ice training in the hockey industry. One of the biggest "little details" is that Jeff believes that the best way to get his message/philosophy across is to make sure that the kids are having fun.

If the kids are enjoying the camp then they will focus more and work harder.

This is a great opportunity for any team to get a head start on their season. There's no better way to start the season than having all your players on the same page. Pro Ambition Boarding Camp are about being part of something and about understanding what it takes and means to part of a team.
