Jeff – Here is the e-mail that I sent to Kevin Regan regarding the Goalie camp that my son attended in Newington, CT.
I couldn’t believe you had the all-time Hockey East leader in save % as a coach…never mind that my family are also big UNH fans!
My son had one of the best weeks of his life and the details/instruction he was shown by Kevin has been amazing to see!
Thank you for having such great quality in your coaching staff….you will defiantly see us again next year!
My son recently attended your camp in Dallas Texas. He did well, and was given high marks for being a small goalie. He is very good at what he does; loves this sport. He finished the number one goalie ion his league this past season. I wanted to thank you for the camp and what you left him with. He brought home a different attitude and approach. Each evening he was so excited, and couldn't wait to get home and tell me what he had done during the day at the camp. He was overjoyed each time the coaches hit a hard shot at him and he would catch it.
I had told them not to go easy on him and to be tough on him sometime when they felt comfortable hitting a couple pretty hard at him.
All coaches (counselors) were very friendly, and I felt at ease leaving him with them. From the first time I met them, I did not feel they were strangers since they were so available and friendly. We plan on
attending next time one is offered.
I appreciate what you've done for my son. He won't make the NHL, but his dream is more alive, and he now has more confidence than ever before.
Just a simple thank you and your coaches for your time and effort you put into the camp. Looking forward to next year.
My son is a goalie and has played for 5 years been too many camps on the West Coast where we live. He LOVED the Pro Ambition camp—John was a fabulous instructor, the curriculum really helped him advance as a goalie. We travel 3000 to attend –and we could not be happier with the results. My son wishes he could have attended and play with your instructors ALL summer. I enthusiastically recommend your camp as the best one out there to help kids develop and ignite their passion for hockey so they try and want to play better.
Robin, goalie parent
I wanted to say thank you for the great February vacation goalie camp my daughter attended last week. She loved it so much she jumped out of bed ready to go each day even though it was an hour earlier than normally for school. Her first game after camp (and only her third goalie game) the opposing coach told our coach she was the best goalie
they faced all season. She learned a lot, but most of all had fun and enjoyed it. Thank you.

Jeff Serowik's article on Mike Buckley's GDS system used at Pro Ambitions Hockey Camps
When it comes to training young goalies, there are multiple developmental models. Mike Buckley’s Goaltending Development Services (GDS) is partnered with Pro Ambitions summer hockey camp to reach goalies all across the country. Whereas goalies used to have to travel to New England during the summer to get adequate trainings, the GDS goalie camps run concurrently alongside the Pro Ambitions Battle Camps – giving goalies the opportunity for top notch goaltending instruction right there at your local ice rink.
The Best of Both Worlds
This is full goalie camp, distinct from the player camp that runs parallel. Goalies need a strong technical framework, but also need to see a lot of shots if they want to enjoy that “summer hockey growth spurt.”
For the first hour of every on ice session, the goalies get a sectioned off zone of the ice where they will learn the details of the modern game. During this first hour, goalies are taught the GDS system through a mapped out set of principles that lay the groundwork of today’s most effective goaltending approach. The system builds on the six core fundamentals of goaltending: Skating, stance, positioning, save selection, rebound control and recovery. The GDS System creates a strong technical base complemented by a focus on an athletic, unbounded style of play. This allows goaltenders to develop their own style based on their strengths, resulting in quick efficient movements and confidence in their game.
The second hour of each on ice session is a chance for the goalies to get out there and compete by demonstrating their newly acquired set of skills. During this time, the goalies are placed in a group of appropriately skilled players to face game-situation drills. They get a TON of shots during this second hour, and the goalie staff will be closely monitoring their progress and offering modifications and adjustments as they see fit.
This camp is the best of both worlds! Goalies are competitors and want to get out there and compete and put the GDS System into action.

One of the headline stories of the 2016 NHL playoffs is Penguins rookie goalie, Matt Murray, who seemingly came out of nowhere to carry the Pens on their current run. In actuality, he is a direct product of the GDS System! Mike Buckley is the goaltending development coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins where he takes minor leaguers with raw potential, and molds them into starting NHL goalies via the GDS System. Before Jonathon Quick was a member of Team USA and backstopping the Kings to Stanley Cups, he was a student of Buckley’s at UMASS, where he too learned the GDS System. Buckley has also worked with hundreds of past and current NCAA goalies, as well as professionals such as Tukka Rassk.
The GDS System being taught across the country at Pro Ambitions Camps is an age appropriate version of the same curriculum and framework being used by NHL and NCAA goalies.
